Three New Advocates Sworn Into CASA Kendall County

CASA Kendall County is a nonprofit organization that trains volunteers from all walks of life to advocate for abused and neglected children.

The following release was issued by CASA Kendall County:

23rd Circuit Court Judge Melissa Barnhart recently lead the swearing in ceremony for three new advocates who will report to her in future cases involving abused and neglected children in Kendall County.

The volunteers completed more than 30 hours of training in addition to courtroom observations before joining CASA Kendall County, a nonprofit organization that trains volunteers from all walks of life to advocate for abused and neglected children.

CASA Kendall County volunteers serve as the presiding judge's eyes an ears outside of the courtroom in child abuse and neglect cases.

"We have outstanding volunteers in our CASA program," said Andrew Smith, President of the Board of Directors of CASA Kendall County, adding that he is "grateful to have such solid support from Kendall County Judges, it really helps us recruit and retain good volunteers."
