Meeting Minutes: What Christine Johnson Said

Minutes detail former Kendall County warden's comments at July 29 Animal Control Committee meeting.

There have been of what happened at the July 29 Animal Control Committee Meeting. That's when Plano resident Erik Devick reported that the bull mastiff that bit a 6-year-old boy had not been euthanized as then-Warden Christine Johnson told the public.

Instead, Moose was adopted to a LaSalle County family three days after at the shelter in Yorkville.

At that committee meeting, committee Chair Anne Vickery asked Johnson if the dog is dead or alive.

According to the meeting minutes, Johnson replied: "It's alive. He's alive. I made a mistake. I did ... the dog that I put down was the dog I thought did the biting. I didn't realize until after he was gone that it was him."

Then, Johnson was asked how long she'd known of the mix-up.

"A week after he'd left," she said, according to the minutes.
