Democrats Slate Two Candidates in Kendall County Elections

District 2 County Board member Elizabeth Flowers seeking re-election afterall.

Kendall County Board member Elizabeth Flowers is pursuing a spot on the November ballot after sitting out the Democratic primary.

She submitted petitions necessary to be "slated" as a Democratic candidate. Slating is a process in which parties can name a candidate to run for any spots on their ticket remaining empty after the primary election.

In addition to Flowers, of Montgomery, local Democrats slated Danae Iacovella of Montgomery to run against incumbent Republican Rebecca Morganegg for Kendall County Circuit Clerk. Those two candidacies can be challenged through June 11.

The move leaves four Democrats and seeking five seats for Kendall County Board District 2 in the Nov. 6 election. Independent candidates must file their petitions by June 25.

Three Democrats - Evelyn Maxine Givens, Herman Johnson, and Kristine Heiman, all of Oswego - submitted petitions .

Flowers did not return a call seeking comment Tuesday, nor did she attend the County Board meeting Tuesday evening.
