High Winds, Snow in Forecast for This Afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning, including high winds and intense snowfall rates for Kendall County and much of suburban Chicago.

Forecasters said the amount of expected snowfall is uncertain, but could range from two to six inches, with the highest amounts expected in more northern communities. Winds are expected to blow from 30-40 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

Visibility is expected to be poor during the height of the storm. Yorkville police are urging drivers to be cautious during the storm.
Yorkville City Administrator Bart Olson said snow regulations regarding parking and shoveling will be enforced.
