City of Yorkville Receives "Sunshine Award" For Efforts in Online Transparency

Out of almost 7,000 Illinois local governmental institutions, less than 50 have received the award.

It's sunny in Yorkville!

The City received the "Sunshine Award" from the Illinois Policy Institute for its efforts in online transparency.

According to the Institute, Yorkville has adopted many of the Institute's recommendations from its 10-point transparency checklist and scored 84.9 points out of 100 points.

The Information for Citizens page on the City's website was of particular note, as the Institute said the page has links to all categories of the 10-point transparency checklist.

Out of nearly 7,000 local government agencies in the state of Illinois, only 42 have received the Institute’s Sunshine Award for scoring an 80 percent or higher in online transparency.
