5 Things You Need to Know About Election Day

Here are the basics that hopefully will keep voting from becoming too stressful.

1) Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

2) You should bring a government-issued photo ID with you in case the election judge requests it.

3) You'll want to know your precinct so you know where to go to vote. The Evoter Illinois website will tell you where to go if you type in your address. There also are precinct maps and other voting information on the Kendall County Clerk's website.

4) If you live in Yorkville and want to research your alderman candidates before hitting the polls, you'll need to know in which ward you live. If you don't have your voter registration card handy, you can check out the ward maps on Yorkville's city website.

5) Wondering about a candidate or a particular referendum? Yorkville Patch's collection of candidate profiles and Q&As can be found here, while a chronological listing of election coverage can be found here.
