Candidate Questions

1)   What can you do to foster economic development in Kendall County? What level of cooperation do you think is necessary with municipalities to accomplish this?

My background as a real estate developer in the Chicago  suburban collar counties would serve me well on the county board having annexed and zoned many projects that were engines for economic growth. Municipalities can help by removing the regulations that stifle growth.

2)   Would you support a 0.75 percent RTA sales tax to locate a Metra stop in Kendall County?

NO....If the Metra can't support a stop with revenue from passengers then don't subsidize it with taxes on those who do not use it. This kind of misallocation of capital is what has brought the state and nation to the brink of bankruptcy.

3)    What lessons did you draw from the dog bite incident and its aftermath? Do you think the changes the county has made at Animal Control are adequate?

Not familiar with the issue...something to discuss if elected.

4)    Do you think the redistricting process was fair for people who live in the county’s larger municipalities?

Another issue that will never be settled as long as politicians are doing the redistricting.

5)   Aside from the issues discussed above, what issue or problem do you think the county board should address, and what action would you take if elected/re-elected?

My personal political leanings are on the free market side of all issues. Any item to come before the board, if I am elected, will be:does this issue do violence to the free market, and does it add the burden of more taxes on the citizens?...............   If so it probably is A BAD IDEA.
