Yorkville Man Charged with Damaging High School Sports Fields

Alexander Soszko is accused of aggressively driving a vehicle across the soccer, baseball fields.

A 22-year-old Yorkville man is charged with driving a vehicle over the soccer field and baseball diamond at Newark High School, causing more than $1,500 in damage, according to Kendall County Sheriff's Police.

Alexander Soszko, of the 600 block of Teri Lane, is charged with criminal damage to state-supported property, a Class 4 felony, police said.

According to police, it appeared a vehicle was "driven aggressively" over the fields at the high school, 413 Chicago Rd., Newark. The incident caused deep ruts to the fields, police said.

Soszko was arrested following an investigation by the sheriff's department Community Policing Unit, police said. His bond was set at $1,000, and he was released after posting 10 percent.

Soszko is due in court on Feb. 11, according to police.
