Property damage crash

A juvenile, 16, was cited for traveling too fast for conditions after their vehicle slid into a garage door and caused damage at 10:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Bertram Drive. The driver was not reported injured.

Yorkville police took a report for a hit and run property damage accident that occurred between Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 in the 1900 block of Bridge Street. A vehicle struck a fixed awning attached to a building and then left the scene without leaving contact information.

Yorkville police recovered a piece of stolen property at 5:55 p.m. at Phelps Court and Fairfax Way. A vehicle, reported stolen from Winthrop Harbor, Ill, was found at the location unoccupied.

Saturday, Dec. 7

DUI

Richard J. Sutton, 26, of the 500 block of Lauderdale, Llano, Texas, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. at Route 47 and Cannonball Trail and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said Yorkville police. He was found sleeping in his semi-tractor parked improperly on the side of the road. An empty liquor bottle was found in the cab of the truck, and he was thus also charged with the illegal transportation of alcohol.

Retail theft

Frances L. Alexander, 49, of the 700 block of Windsor Road, Sugar Grove, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. in the 1800 block of Marketview Drive and charged with retail theft of over $300, said Yorkville police.

Friday, Dec. 6

Retail theft

Two juveniles were cited with retail theft that occurred at 7:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Erica Lane, said Yorkville Police. The juveniles were cited after concealing merchandise and exiting the business without paying for it. One juvenile took $108 in merchandise and the other took $66.
