Three Yorkville Businesses Fail Liquor Compliance Checks

The businesses sold alcohol to underage agents of the Yorkville Police Department.

Three Yorkville businesses recently failed liquor compliance checks by the Yorkville Police Department.

Yorkville Police used underage agents in two different checks, one on Nov. 13 and another on Dec. 4 to check all the business in Yorkville that have a liquor license.

Three businesses out of 32 sold alcohol to an underage agent, and were thus issued local ordinance tickets and ordered to appear at an adjudication hearing at the United City of Yorkville.

Detective Sergeant Ray Mikolasek said the three businesses that were found incompliant were:

  • Rowdy’s (210 South Bridge Street)
  • Circle K (Shell Gas Station, 1421 North Bridge Street)
  • Vat and Vine (634 West Veterans Parkway)

The Yorkville Police department will be conducting quarterly alcohol and tobacco compliance checks with the hope to reduce violations through enforcement and the education of licensees.
