Three Suspects in Custody After Drive-By Shooting in Montgomery

No injuries reported in shooting and subsequent car crash.

Three people are in custody after a reported shooting Monday morning in the 2800 block of Frances in Montgomery, police said.

Chief Daniel Meyers said police responded to a report of shots fired from a vehicle at a home around 7:43 a.m. Residents from the home chased the vehicle to the area of Route 31 and Route 30. The two vehicles collided with each other, according to Meyers, and the suspect vehicle fled into the area of Albright and Baseline.

All three suspects were taken into custody, Meyers said.

According to police, shell casings were found in the 2800 block of Frances. The area is being processed by Montgomery police evidence techs, Meyers said.

All three suspects are in custody at the Montgomery Police Department.

"A weapon has been recovered that we believe was involved in the shooting," Meyers said. "Further testing of the weapon and casings will be conducted."

Montgomery police were assisted by the Kane, Kendall and Oswego police departments, Meyers said. He said police expect to release more information by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
