UPDATE: No Explosives Found at Cross Lutheran Church and School

A school official was told something would be "blown up."

Update: 1:55 p.m.

The Sheriff's office has given the all clear after no explosive devices were found at Cross Lutheran Church and School. 

This case is still under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, at (630)553-7500 x1107.

The Sheriff’s office is actively investigating a threat that was made against Cross Lutheran Church this morning.

A telephone threat mentioning something being “blown up” was made to a school official in the morning hours, said the Sheriff’s office, and deputies responded.

All students were evacuated and are being turned over to their parents. School will not resume today.

A K-9 detection unit is currently sweeping Cross Lutheran Church, located in the 8600 Block of Route 47.

Kendall County Sheriff Deputy Bryan Harl said that at this point, “It does not look like there is a credible threat” but that all precautions are being taken.

The incident is under investigation.
