Police: No Injuries After Shot Fired Sunday into Open Space

A 22-year-old Maple Park man was charged after firing a pistol at Mulhern Court Apartments.

A 22-year-old Maple Park man is facing a felony charge after shooting a pistol into a grassy area at Mulhern Court apartments early Sunday, Yorkville police said.

Brennan Orr, of the 200 block of DeKalb Drive, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. He was released from Kendall County jail Sunday after posting $1,000 bond, a jail official said.

Orr was attending a party in a second-story apartment late Saturday when someone smoking a cigarette in a higher balcony dropped ashes on the party-goers below, Yorkville Deputy Chief Larry Hilt said. During the ensuing argument, Orr fired a pistol into an open grassy area.
