Police: Man Stole Silverware from Party
Jason Gilich, 20, of Yorkville, is facing a second charge surrounding thefts on Winding Creek Road.
A 20-year-old Yorkville man is accused of stealing $1,300 worth of silverware during a party a 19-year-old man threw while his parents were out of town, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said.
Jason Gilich, of the 400 block of McHugh Road, turned himself in this week on a warrant alleging felony theft, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Police said Gilich stole the silverware the same night .
Both homes are in the first block of Winding Creek Road, which is located off Route 71 east of Yorkville.

Gilich previously was charged with residential burglary in connection with the March 30 incident involving the jewelry. That case remains pending in Kendall County court, Sheriff’s Deputy Craig French said.
“He was apparently at a party at this address and he walked over and committed the burglary at the other residence,” French said.

Sheriff’s police said Gilich sold the silverware to a local business, which melted it. Some of the jewelry met the same fate, police said.
Gilich is free after posting $5,000 bond in connection with the new theft charge, French said.
