A juvenile is facing possible criminal charges after police said he called 911 with a false bomb threat in Plano.
A boy is facing potential juvenile charges after police said he dialed 911 and falsely claimed there was a bomb at Emily G. Johns Intermediate School in Plano.
The emergency call came about 7:35 a.m. Friday, before school had started for the day. Police traced the call to a juvenile, interviewed him and released him to his parents pending charges from the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office, Plano Police Chief Steven S. Eaves said.
The middle school, which is at 430 Mitchell Drive on the city’s east side, was closed until 9:10 a.m., when authorities finished searching for explosive devices. None were found, and students ultimately missed about 30 minutes of class, Eaves said.
