Police Blotter: Truck Sideswipes Bus; Electronics Stolen from Unlocked Car

Sheridan man injured in accident
Jason S. Beyer, 25, of the 0-100 block of Charity Lane, Bristol, was charged with failure to yield at an intersection, Kendall County Sheriff’s police said. Beyer struck a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Sheridan man about 5:15 p.m. at Millington and Rogers road outside Sandwich, sheriff’s police said. The Sheridan man’s vehicle struck a utility pole, rolled and caught fire. The Sheridan man was taken to Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, but a nursing supervisor said he was not there Thursday afternoon.

Pick-up sideswipes school bus
David A. Southard, 33, of the 3200 block of Cannonball Trail, Yorkville, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and passing in a no-passing zone, Yorkville police said. Southard’s 2003 Dodge Ram sideswiped a school bus as he attempted to pass the bus on Route 47 south of Cannonball Trail about 6 a.m., police said. Southard’s truck ran off the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported to police.

Bail violation investigation
Yorkville police are investigating a possible violation of bail bond that happened about noon in the 1200 block of Marketplace Drive.
Unlocked vehicle burglarized
A woman reported that a car amplifier and a speaker box with two speakers were taken from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside her home in the 0-100 block of Gawne Lane, Yorkville, sheriff’s police said. The total value of the items taken was estimated at $400.
