Police Blotter: Traffic Crashes, Red Graffiti

Yorkville Police reports: May 6-10.

Tuesday, May 10

No injuries in crash

Melissa E. Carter, 36, of the 800 block of Victorian Lane, Montgomery, was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle after crash about 3 p.m. at Routes 126 and 47, Yorkville police said. Carter’s vehicle sideswiped a vehicle carrying a 30-year-old Morris resident, police said. No injuries were reported.

Semi strikes roof

A semi-tractor struck the roof of Walgreens, 1991 S. Bridge St., about 8 p.m. as a 57-year-old Hortonville, WI man was driving it through the parking lot, police said.

Monday, May 9

Ticketed after accident

Betsy J. Belek, 40, of the 3100 block of Kennedy Drive, Montgomery, was charged with failure to yield after an accident about 3:30 p.m., police said. Belek’s Hyundai Santa Fe struck the side of a Saturn Ion driven by Kimberly M. Robbins of DeKalb, police said. Robbins was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center. The crash happened on Cannonball Trail south of Route 34.

Sunday, May 8

Tools found in roadway

A yellow tool box containing a variety of tools was found about 2:20 p.m. in the roadway at Route 34 and Cannonball Trail.

Driving with suspended license

Timothy K. Gilkey, 60, of the 200 block of East Spring Street, Yorkville, was charged about 3 p.m. with driving while his license was suspended, police said. The traffic stop happened at Route 47 and Washington Street.

Saturday, May 7

Red graffiti

Police said they suspect two juveniles of placing red graffiti on a door in the 4000 block of Shoeger Court about 5:20 p.m. The graffiti cause about $100 in damage.

Unlocked car burglarized

An $800 laptop, a $500 laptop dock, a $30 car charger and $20 cash were reported stolen about 10:55 a.m. from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Morgan Street, police said.

Friday, May 6

Battery investigated at middle school

Police said they were investigating a battery in which a 14-year-old boy allegedly shoved a 13-year-old boy into a table at Yorkville Middle School, 920 Prairie Crossing.
