Investigating Domestic Battery

Yorkville police said they are investigating a possible domestic battery that happened about 1 p.m. in the 200 block of Mill Street.

Wednesday, May 18

Retail Theft Alleged

Rajul Patel, 19, of the 10000 block of Route 71 was charged with retail theft for allegedly taking seven items worth $202 from Kohl’s, 945 Erica Lane.

Monday, May 16

Residential Burglary Alleged

Two necklaces valued about $225 were reported stolen from a home in the 1000 block of South Main Street, police said. A family member had been in the home all day without noticing anyone entering the home and taking those items, police said.

 Truck Damaged Meter Socket

A 1995 International aerial truck driven by a 48-year-old Elgin man backed into a meter socket attached to a utility pole in the 100 block of Bruell Street about 3:15 p.m., police said. No tickets were issued, according to the news release.

 Marijuana Possession

A juvenile was charged about 3 p.m. with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 600 block of River Birch Drive, police said.
