Saturday, June 11

DUI, traffic offenses charged

Richard L. Carlson, 25, of the 1000 block of Cascade Drive, Aurora, was charged about 1:08 a.m. with driving under the influence, failure to signal, squealing tires, no insurance, and failure to notify the secretary of state of address change, Yorkville police said. The traffic stop happened at Routes 126 and 71.

Friday, June 10

Semi damages underground device

A semi-tractor ran off the roadway in the 2800 block of North Bridge Street and ran over an underground tracking device valued at $3,000 about 10:40 a.m., Yorkville police said.

Thursday, June 9

Church garage window damaged

A vandal damaged a garage window at Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ, 409 Center Parkway, Yorkville police said. The damage, estimated at $200, was reported about 7:30 a.m.

Tuesday, June 7

Dog bite reported

A dog bit a child in the 2700 block of Cranston Circle about 1 p.m., Yorkville police said.

Two charged after traffic stop

James B. Ellberg, 45, of West Chicago, was charged about 11:50 p.m. with driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said. During the same traffic stop at Route 71 and Sleepy Hollow Road, Candice M. Holek, 20, of West Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

June 6

Thefts from vehicles reported

  • A $120 GPS was stolen over the weekend from a car parked near Countryside Parkway and East Kendall Drive, police said.
  • Also over the weekend, several vehicles in the 200 block of East Van Emmon Street were broken into. A $150 CD player was stolen from one.
June 4

Juvenile charged with stealing sunglasses

A juvenile stole two pairs of sunglasses, with a total value of $46, from Kohl’s Department Store, 945 Erica Lane, about 4 p.m., Yorkville police said. The 17-year-old was charged with retail theft, a city ordinance violation.

Driving with suspended license

Jill K. Johnson, 26, of the 900 block of South Hugh Street, Plano, was charged about 1 p.m. with driving while license suspended.
