Sunday, Jan. 1
Two DUI Charges Filed
- Connie L. Shamblin, 46, of the 1000 block of Garfield Avenue, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic control device and operating in violation of a restriction, Yorkville police said. The traffic stop happened at about 1:15 a.m. at Route 34 and Center Parkway.
- Jason M. Brown, 21, of the 500 block of Beachview Drive, Somonauk, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, operating a vehicle without headlights and driving without insurance, police said. The traffic stop happened at about 2:20 a.m. at Route 34 and Game Farm Road.
Allegedly Trespassing into a Vehicle

John Baxter, 24, of the 100 block of Division Street, Bristol, was charged at about 11:45 p.m. with criminal trespass to vehicle, police said. Police said they found him inside a car that did not belong to him in the 100 block of East Hydraulic Street.

Tanisha Desimone, 24, of Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence, police said. The traffic stop happened at 9:30 p.m. at Route 47 and Windett Ridge Road.
Telephone Harassment Reported
Someone in the 300 block of Candleberry Court reported telephone harassment, police said.
Friday, Dec. 30Identity Theft Reported
A resident of the 2000 block of Raintree Road reported someone rented a car in Detroit using his personal information and did not return it, police said.
Tuesday, Dec. 27Computer Reported Stolen
Someone stole a tablet computer valued at $439 from the business in the 9700 block of Route 126 between Dec. 22 and Dec. 27, police said.
DUI Charge Filed in Crash
Helio Juarez-Mendez, 35, of the 200 block of Linn Court, Yorkville, was charged with driving under the influence, driving while license suspended and improper lane use, police said. The traffic stop happened at about 11:30 p.m. at Route 34 and Eldamain Road.
Retail Theft Reported
Ryan D.E. Davis, 18, of the 800 block of North Main Street, Sandwich, and a juvenile were charged with retail theft, police said. The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Erica Lane.
Business Door Pried
The door frame of a business in the 1000 block of South Bridge Street sustained about $50 in damage from someone trying to pry it open and break into the business, police said.
Charges Filed in Crash
Rufije Berisha, 27, of the 300 block of North Ben Street, Plano, was charged with driving without a valid license and failure to yield turning left after a traffic crash at about 1 p.m. at routes 34 and 47, police said.
Saturday, Dec. 24Retail Theft Alleged
Chandra K. Gomez, 40, of the 200 block of Bertram Drive, Yorkville, was charged with retail theft after police said almost $200 in clothing was taken from Kohl’s, 945 Erica Lane.
Wednesday, Dec. 21Checks Reported Stolen and Forged
Someone in the 300 block of Illini Drive reported that someone had stolen checks and sports memorabilia from the home and that the checks had been forged and cashed, police said.
