Police Blotter: Man Charged With DUI Hits Three Trees, a Mailbox And a Fence

Minors Net Alcohol Charges

Lance D. Ostaszewski, 20, of the 0S900 block of Spring Green Way, Batavia, and Stephanie Astra, 19, of the 900 block of Orchard Court, Batavia, were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol after a traffic stop at about 1:44 a.m. at Route 47 and Van Emmon Street, police said.

DUI, Traffic Violations

Thomas J. Kubal, 60, of the 200 block of Cherry, Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper backing, open alcohol, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash after he drove off the road and struck three trees, a mailbox and a fence at about 2:30 p.m. at Route 34, east of Bristol Ridge, police said.

Juvenile Nets Weapon Charge

A juvenile was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon at about midnight in the 900 block of Prairie Crossing, police said.

Juvenile Charged With Battery

A juvenile was charged with battery and disorderly conduct at about 10 a.m. in the 700 block of Game Farm Road, police said.
