Semi Reportedly Caused Damage
A semi-tractor driven by a 44-year-old Kentucky man damaged the curb and grass when it turned right from West Center Street onto King Street at about 12:30 p.m., Yorkville police said.

Arrested for Failure to Appear
Daniel Thomas Sponholtz, 28, of the first block of Saugatuck Road, Montgomery, was arrested at about 9:40 a.m. at the Kendall County Public Safety Center on a warrant alleging failure to appear in court in connection with a domestic battery case, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said.

Driving Without A Valid License Alleged
Mauricio E. Contreras, 40, of the 1500 block of Marigold Lane, Minooka, was charged around 4:10 p.m. with driving without a valid license, Yorkville police said.
Warrant Arrest Alleging Violation of Order of Protection
George Benitez, 32, of the 500 block of North Kendall Drive, Yorkville, was arrested at about 9:40 p.m. on a Will County warrant alleging a violation of an order of protection, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. He also was charged with driving with only one red taillight at Galena and Eldamain roads.
Warrant Arrest For Alleged Missed Court Date
John Keith West II, 22, of the 500 block of Heartland Drive, Yorkville, was arrested at about 9:10 a.m. on a Kendall County warrant alleging failure to appear in court in connection with a case of criminal trespass to state land, sheriff’s police said. He was arrested on Eastfield Road in Montgomery.
Ice Caused Accident
A 30-year-old Plano woman was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora after a 2008 Jeep Compass skidded on ice and struck the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country she was driving, Yorkville police said. The accident happened at about 6:20 a.m. at Budd and West Highpoint roads. No tickets were issued.
Man Reportedly Attacked in His Own Yard
A 45-year-old Yorkville man reported a stranger pushed him down a hill in his yard in the first block of Timbercreek Drive around 10:30 p.m., sheriff’s police said. The stranger then struck him in his face and left thigh, according to reports.
Friday, Feb. 25Cell Phone Reported Stolen at High School
A Yorkville High School student reported at about 10:30 a.m. that a $230 Samsung cellular phone had been stolen from a gym locker.
Thursday, Feb. 24All But One Local Stores Pass Tobacco Checks
Chaitanya Genge, 66, a clerk at Yorkville Liquors, 1925 Marketview Drive, was ticketed for allegedly selling tobacco products to a minor at about 4 p.m., Yorkville police said. Yorkville police used minors for undercover tobacco checks at 15 local businesses, with Yorkville Liquors being the only one found non-compliant, according to a Yorkville police news release.
