Residential Burglary Attempted

Someone tried to break into a house in the 400 block of Landmark Avenue at about 7 a.m. by opening the rear screen door, Yorkville police said.

Saturday, Nov. 19

Ticketed in Traffic Crash

Police said Cheryl L. Meminger, 34, of the 4500 block of Garritano, Yorkville, was charged with failure to yield the right of way when turning left after a traffic crash at routes 34 and 47 at about 2 p.m.

Charged with DUI

Milena L. Ziukovic, 19, of the first block of Timberview Lane, Yorkville, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to signal, transportation of open alcohol and driving without insurance, according to police. The traffic stop happened at Route 34 and Countryside Parkway.

Friday, Nov. 18

Retail Theft Alleged

Heather M. Bachelor, 34, of the 100 block of Croffott Street, Sandwich, and a girl were charged with retail theft after police said they took about $150 in clothing from a store in the 900 block of Erica Lane.

Mailboxes Vandalized

Mailboxes were damaged at about 11:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of Emerald Lane as an object struck them from a white Jeep Cherokee.

Sign Vandalized

Letters were reported missing from the stone entrance sign to Country Hills subdivision at about 10:30 a.m. The replacement cost was estimated at $800.

DUI Alleged After Driver Lost Control

Joel Phillips, 30, of the 4500 block of Garritano, Yorkville, was charged at about 1:40 a.m. with driving under the influence, improper lane use and driving without insurance, Yorkville police said. His car skidded and he lost control going down an embankment at Galena and Kennedy roads, according to reports.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

Clothing Allegedly Stolen

A juvenile was charged with retail theft at about 4 p.m. after Yorkville police said almost $200 in clothing was taken from a store in the 900 block of Erica Lane.

Hunting Bow Stolen from Vehicle

A $149 iPod Nano and a $1,500 hunting bow were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Canyon Trail between Saturday, Nov. 12, and Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Ticketed After Accident

Jamie M. Baker, 37, of the 800 block of Hampton Lane, was charged with driving without insurance after a traffic crash in the 1300 block of Game Farm Road at about 2:30 p.m.

Credit Card Stolen, Used

Someone took a credit card from a home in the 400 block of Landmark Drive on Nov. 15 or 16, police said. The credit card later had $32 in unauthorized charges on it, police said.

Monday, Nov. 14

Jewelry Reported Stolen from Home

About $2,000 in jewelry was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Colonial Parkway between Nov. 1 and 14, Yorkville police said.
