Retail Theft Charged
Mark J. Brewer, 28, of the 12800 block of Route 34, Plano, was charged with retail theft, Yorkville police said. He allegedly stole $122 in merchandise Aug. 11 from a business in the 1600 block of North Beecher Road.

Charge Filed in Accident
Carolyn R. Ervin, 58, of the 400 block of West Kendall Drive, was charged about 12:25 p.m. with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after her 2010 Toyota Camry rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado at Routes 34 and 47, police said. Neither Ervin nor the 52-year-old Sheridan woman driving the Silverado were injured.

DUI Alleged in Accident After Car Ran Out of Gas
Arnold Solis II, 22, of the 0-99 block of Briarcliff Road, Montgomery, was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said he ran out of gas near Galena and East Beecher roads and was maneuvering his 1997 Ford Windstar off the road when he struck a wire.
Identity Theft Reported
A 66-year-old Yorkville woman reported that someone had used her identity in Florida.
Car Reported Stolen
Someone reported that a silver 2003 Dodge Caravan was stolen from Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, police said.
Sunday, Sept. 4Two Cars Burglarized
Someone stole a $180 Creative ZEN Vision M and $70 cash from two unlocked vehicles in the 600 block of Teri Lane, police said.
Saturday, Sept. 3Driving While License Suspended
Ronald L. Brock, 45, of the 700 block of North Bridge Street, was charged about 1 a.m. with driving while license suspended, police said.
Bicyclist Hit at Route 47 and Spring Street
Jennifer Paletta, 42, of the 500 block of Omaha Drive, Yorkville, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Police said her 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a 46-year-old Yorkville woman who was riding a bicycle across the crosswalk at Bridge and Spring streets about 9 a.m.
Battery Alleged at High School
Two juveniles were charged with battery and disorderly conduct at Yorkville High School, 797 Game Farm Road, about 2:30 p.m., police said.
