Monday, Jan. 23

Rear-Ended After Stopping for Deer

A 73-year-old woman was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora on Monday afternoon after she stopped her four-door car for a deer and was rear-ended by a SUV whose driver could not stop in time, Yorkville police said. The accident happened at 1:55 p.m. on Route 71 near Wing Road.

Saturday, Jan. 21

Marijuana Charges

James A. Woolman, 36, of the 4500 block of Garritano Street, Yorkville, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and cited with driving without insurance, police said. His vehicle was stopped at Route 47 and Galena Road at about 10 p.m.

Bad Check Reported

A Yorkville resident reported receiving a fraudulent check in the mail.

Accident at Kendall Marketplace

Trisha M. Cook, 28, of the 500 block of Redbud Drive, was charged with failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, police said. Her Ford Expedition struck an empty Subaru Forrester at Kendall Marketplace at about 9 a.m., according to reports.

Friday, Jan. 20

Charges Filed After Accident

Alexander Nunez, 18, of the 600 block of Edgewater Drive, Plano, was charged with driving without insurance, resisting a peace officer, failure to yield, driving on a revoked license, and leaving the scene of an accident, police said. The accident happened at 7:40 a.m. at Eldamain and Corneils roads.

Thursday, Jan. 19

Incident at High School

Two juveniles were charged at about 7 a.m. with battery and disorderly conduct at Yorkville High School, 797 Game Farm Road.
