Aggravated battery, DUI

Elizabeth M. Tomkowiak, 51, 1650 River Road, Montgomery, was charged with aggravated battery to a corrections deputy at 9:45 p.m. at the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, 1102 Cornell Lane, Yorkville, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Police. Reports state after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 8:52 p.m. at another location, Tomkowiak was charged with aggravated battery and criminal damage to property for breaking the eyeglasses of the deputy during the booking process. The deputy sustained a cut to his face during the altercation, police said.

Juvenile sets mailbox on fire

A juvenile was arrested for criminal damage to property after setting a mailbox on fire at 5:27 p.m. in the 300 block of McHugh Road in Yorkville, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Police. Reports state the incident remains under investigation.
