Fraud Reported

A 41-year-old resident of the 5500 block of Fields Drive, told police he made a payment of $8,869.28 to a mortgage modification company, only to learn the the company did not exist. The resident learned the documents presented to him by the company were fraudulent. The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

Yorkville police are investigating a report of a hit and run on Center Parkway at approximately 11:45 a.m. A vehicle of unknown make struck a 36-year-old Yorkville resident's vehicle, according to police reports.

Persons charged with a crime, or issued a citation for violation of a local ordinance, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
