Mail Already Opened

A resident of the 400 block of East Somonauk Road reported receiving several pieces of mail that had already been opened, Yorkville police said. Police notified the U.S. postal inspector.

Unlocked Vehicle Burglarized

A dual-screen DVD player and a DVD were reported stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle in the 2200 block of Northland Lane, police said. The combined value of the items were estimated at $205.

Monday, April 23

Drug Charges Filed After Traffic Stop

Alejandro J. Soto, 23, of the 300 block of Wilshire Drive, Sandwich, was charged at about 1:30 p.m. with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Route 47 and Hydraulic Road, police said. In connection with the same incident, Alexis J. Pronos, 19, of the 700 block of Christopher Street, Plano, was charged with obstructing justice, police said.

Wednesday, April 18

Home Ransacked

A home in the 500 block of Fairhaven Drive was broken into and ransacked between 9:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m., police said. Nothing was taken.

Diamond Ring Possibly Stolen

A resident of the 1400 block of Orchid Street reported that a $21,000 diamond ring was missing. The ring went missing or was stolen between Thursday, March 15 and Wednesday, April 18.

Saturday, April 14

Underaged Drinking Charged in Crash

No one was injured around 5 a.m. when a 1998 Ford Taurus left Galena Road near Kennedy Road and rolled over, police said. Jose F. Garcia, 19, of the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue, Aurora, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane use, no valid driver’s license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, police said. In connection with the same incident, Francisco Lucero, 21, of the 800 block of Route 34, Plano, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and Ivan Chavez, 18, of the 300 block of South Center Street, Plano, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
