Updated at 8:30 a.m. April 20:

A gunman walked up and shot six people at an Easter party on the east side of Montgomery, Police Chief Daniel Meyers said early Sunday. The shooting happened at around 12:30 a.m., police said.

In a video clip taken by Northern Illinois FireGround Photos administrator Todd Sherman, Meyers said the victims were sitting in the garage at 1399 Jackson St. listening to music and talking when the suspect, described as a male Hispanic, walked up and began shooting into the garage.

Four men and two women, all between the ages of 20 and 30, were wounded. According to Meyers, although there were children inside the house, none of them were inside the garage at the time of the shooting.

Meyers said five of the victims were taken via ambulance to area hospitals, while the sixth was driven to a hospital by a friend.

Police are looking for a Hispanic male, who had at least one to two handguns, as well as a gold SUV with black rims believed to be involved in the incident.

"We will continue to work this investigation and exhaust all leads possible," Meyers said. He said Montgomery Police have activated the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force to help work the case.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Aurora Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 or Montgomery police at 630-897-8707, ext. 3300, Meyers said. Callers may remain anonymous.

Meyers said there have been no prior incidents of violence reported at the Jackson Street address.

"No, this area is pretty quiet," Meyers said early Sunday.
