Reportedly Drunken Driver Rampages Through Bristol Bay Subdivision; Hits Cars, Trees and Buildings

The driver, Kim Sylvest, 59, of Bristol Bay subdivision has been taken into custody.

A Bristol Bay resident has been taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving after rampaging through the streets of Bristol Bay subdivision early Friday morning.

Yorkville Police Deputy Chief Larry Hilt said the incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. in Bristol Bay subdivision, located off Galena and Route 47. 

Bristol Bay resident Kim Sylvest, 59, has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said Hilt.

Sylvest hit seven cars, two trees and two structures. Two of the vehicles had people in them and one driver was treated at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 

According to the United City of Yorkville Facebook page, Police and Building Department employees are in the subdivision conducting an investigation and inspecting structures that have been hit.

A man has reportedly terrorized the residents of Bristol Bay Subdivision, Yorkville on Friday morning.

Multiple Yorkville Patch readers have contacted the Patch, describing a man in an truck taking out a tree, parked cars, building and hitting at least one person. 

Readers said the strikes seemed to be done on purpose.

At this time there is no official word from Yorkville Police or the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department.
