Kendall County Hosts a Ground Search and Rescue Training

The training class was held at the Hoover Forest Preserve and the Kendall County Emergency Operations Center.

The following release was issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office:

Members of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Kendall County Emergency Management Agency and Bristol-Kendall Fire volunteered their time Saturday August 3rd and Sunday August 4th to participate in a 16 hour training course in Ground Search and Rescue held at the Hoover Forest Preserve and the Kendall County Emergency Operations Center.

The class is taught according to the curriculum set by the Illinois Search and Rescue Council.

The Illinois Search and Rescue Council is a charitable, professional, and educational organization which supports,  coordinates, develops, promotes, and implements search and rescue resources with the underlying principles of saving lives and preserving property through its support of the National Search and Rescue Plan, the National Response Framework, and Illinois Emergency Operations Plan. 

The membership is comprised of SAR teams from all across the State of Illinois, and some surrounding areas, that have come together to further the professionalism of the SAR discipline.  Teams include organizations from public safety organizations as well as non-governmental organizations providing search and rescue services for missing persons within the State of Illinois.
