Four Teens Sent to Hospital in ATV Crash

ATV over turned and slammed into a tree, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's office.

Four girls ranging in age from 14 to 16 were injured when an side-by-side ATV they were riding in at about 8 p.m. Thursday over turned and slammed into a tree, according to Kendall County Sheriff's spokesman Craig French.

Five girls in all were riding southbound on Riverwood Drive in Bristol Township when the accident occurred, French said. The driver of the vehicle was 14 years old.

Two of the girls were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center by Oswego Fire Protection District ambulance and two others were taken to Mercy Hospital by Bristol Kendall Fire District ambulance, French said. 

All four received just minor injuries, and the fifth refused medical treatment, French said. 

French said it is illegal to operate the ATV on the roadway, and a ticket was issued.

Patch is receiving reports of an ATV accident on the 0-99 block of Riverwood Drive involving multiple injuries with a multi-ambulance response. Departments from Oswego, Bristol Kendall, Montgomery and Plainfield are responding.
