Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle headed east on Van Emmon Road "missed the stop sign" and collided with a vehicle on Route 71, police said.
Illinois State Police Sgt. R.A. Caves said state police responded to the intersection about 2:47 p.m., although other police agencies arrived earlier. He did not provide the names of those involved nor details on the types of vehicles, but he indicated that none were high school students.
“Citations will follow,” Caves said.
There is no traffic control signal for drivers on Route 71. Drivers for both vehicles, as well as two passengers in the vehicle traveling on Route 71 were injured, Caves said.
State police left the scene at 3:52 p.m., Caves said.
