4 Injured in Accident at Route 71 and Van Emmon Road

State police said Tuesday afternoon that they expect to issue citations in connection with the accident, which happened before 2:47 p.m.

Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle headed east on Van Emmon Road "missed the stop sign" and collided with a vehicle on Route 71, police said.

Illinois State Police Sgt. R.A. Caves said state police responded to the intersection about 2:47 p.m., although other police agencies arrived earlier. He did not provide the names of those involved nor details on the types of vehicles, but he indicated that none were high school students.

“Citations will follow,” Caves said.
