Fishermen Reel in Bones from Yorkville Pond
Police do not believe bones to be human in origin, but sent them for analysis.
A couple of local fishermen reeled in a macabre haul from a Game Farm Road pond Saturday afternoon.
Rather than fish, the anglers pulled in some bones from the pond at Game Farm and Route 34 and contacted Yorkville police, Deputy Police Chief Larry Hilt said.
Police recovered a number of bones and summoned Kendall County Coroner Ken Toftoy to the scene to see if he could determine the origin of the bones.

“He couldn’t determine what kind of bones they were and took them back for more testing,” Hilt said.
Authorities do not believe the bones are human in origin, Hilt said. Hilt added the department is unaware of any missing person reports or cold cases that would lead them to believe it was human.
