Felony DUI Charges Filed in Fatal Kendall County Crash

The April 21 crash killed 66-year-old Susan Jones of Joliet

A Serena woman faces four counts of felony DUI charges in connection with an April 21 crash that killed a Joliet woman in Kendall County.

Susan Bedenk, 56, was charged last month with two counts of felony drunken driving causing death, and two counts of drunken driving causing bodily injury in the head-on crash that killed Susan Jones, 66, of Joliet, according to the Beacon News.

Illinois State Police said at about 3 p.m. on April 21, Bedenk's Camaro was heading west on Route 52 near Brisbin Road when it struck an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado carrying Jones and a 68-year-old man head-on.

Jones was killed and the man was hospitalized in the crash.

Bedenk is due in Kendall County court on May 28.
