Extra Sheriff Traffic Patrols Start Today

Grant covers extra sheriff patrols through March 20.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is joining hundreds of other police agencies throughout the state in adding extra patrols surrounding St. Patrick's Day, according to a news release.

They will target drunk-driving, seatbelt enforcement and child safety seat use, according to the news release. The extra effort will start today and run through March 20.

They are funded by a federal traffic safety grant distributed through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety.
