Bristol Bay Driver Charged with Three Counts of Aggravated DUI

Kim L. Sylvest, 59, hit seven cars, two trees and two structures last Friday morning.

Last Friday morning around 7:15 a.m. residents of the Bristol Bay subdivision received quite a scare as a reportedly drunk driver crashed into vehicles, trees and buildings.

The driver and Bristol Bay resident, Kim L. Sylvest, 59, of the 100 block of Bertram Drive, Yorkville, was arrested following the incident and charged with three counts of aggravated driving under the influence, reckless driving and leaving the scene of the accident, said Yorkville police.

Deputy Police Chief Larry Hilt said in total Sylvest hit seven cars, two trees and two structures, which included a garage. Two of the vehicles he hit had people in them.  One driver was treated at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Sylvest is currently in custody on pending bond and is expected to be in court for the three aggravated drunk driving charges on Sept. 25 at 9 a.m.

This is not Sylvest's first time in Kendall County court. In 2009 and 2011 he appeared for charges brought against him by the Bristol Bay Condominium Association.
