Aurora Men Charged in Family Dollar Armed Robbery

Two Aurora men face felony charges in connection with Tuesday night's robbery of the Montgomery Family Dollar store, 1337 Douglas Road.

Cedric Brown, 23, of the 400 block of Sherman Avenue, and David Adams, 20, of the 1300 block of Pearl Street, are both charged with one count of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said officers who were dispatched to the store on Tuesday set up a perimeter with the assistance from the Aurora, Oswego, Kane and Kendall police departments, as well as a K-9 unit from Joliet.

Police took the two suspects into custody, Meyers said in a press release issued Wednesday afternoon.

Clothing — including a mask, hoodies and gloves — were recovered, along with a handgun, Meyers said.

Brown and Adams were transported to bond call at the Aurora Police Department, according to Meyers. Brown is being held on $100,000 bail and Adams is being held on $150,000.

Meyers said no one was hurt in the robbery.
