60-Year-Old Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident in Yorkville

Female rider is unhurt in early-morning mishap at Route 47 and Elizabeth Street.

A 60-year-old Westchester man was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora following a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Yorkville.

The extent of the man's injuries are unknown at this time, according to Yorkville Police Sgt. Sarah Klingel.

She said the accident occurred around midnight at Route 47 and Elizabeth Street—just south of the intersection of Route 47 and Route 126.

"From reading the reports, it was a motorcycle that hit a patch of gravel and overturned," Klingel said. "And, from looking at the diagrams, it ended up on the side of the road."

Klingel said a 63-year-old female from Westchester was riding with the motorcycle driver. She was not injured in the accident.

An investigation into the mishap is ongoing.
