Share Your Thoughts: What Would You Tell the Family of a Fallen Soldier?

Oswego resident Patricia Gavros asked participants that at an event Tuesday. Now, Patch is asking you.

has organized several community projects as part of her personal 52-week challenge for patriotism.

On Tuesday, she gave participants at a a card, pictured above, and asked them to hang it on their refrigerator or share it with their family.

"Sometimes when we have to really actually think about something specifically, it's good," Gavros said. "It makes us think and for one moment makes us appreciate where we live."

Here are some responses left on the Yorkville Patch Facebook page:

Michael Harle: I would say thank you for raising such an unselfish soldier. I am deeply sorry for your loss, the nation will mourn our loss.

Dennis Wholey: As a warriors watch and patriot guard rider we simply tell the family thank you... As I have been to many of these events ( 1) is to many..two words bring alot of understanding to me, them and many of my fellow riders.

Kathy Tucek: Thank you for being strong and proud!!!

Barbara Zitt: You have endured a great deal of pain, and made a huge sacrifice for our country. We appreciate you and God Bless your family.
