Ruth Eleanor Farren, 87, Worked 35 Years at Yorkville's Holland Drug Store

Vistation will be held on Friday, May 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Ruth Farren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11.

Ruth Eleanor Farren, age 87 of Yorkville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home. She was born on November 27, 1925 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Axel and Eloise (Alger) Tebell.

Ruth was united in marriage on February 22, 1947 to Mr. Emil “Bud” Farren and they spent the next 25 happy years together until his passing on April 17, 1972. Mrs. Farren was a Pharmacist Assistant for 35 years beginning at Webster Drug Store which became Thomas Pharmacy and later Holland Drug Store in Yorkville, IL.

She was a longtime member of the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ in Yorkville, IL. Ruth was a member for many years, of the Yorkville American Legion Post #489 Woman’s Auxiliary in Yorkville, IL. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Ruth enjoyed baking cakes for her family’s birthdays and especially for her grandchildren’s weddings. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Kathy) Farren of Yorkville, IL, Dave (Brenda) Farren of Bristol, IL, Diane (Jeff) Dillow of Millington, IL and Susan (Barry) Kimes of Yorkville, IL; her seven grandchildren, Sean (Deanna) Farren, Chad (Sandi) Farren, Kristen (Andy) Langston, Kim (Jason) Jones, Emily (Kim) Grote, Colleen (Mark) Higginbotham and Keri (Chris) Phillipp; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Renee and Hayley Farren, Lucas, Savanna and Cole Farren, Kylie and Natalie Grote, Caden and Cooper Langston, Halle, Quinn and Macie Jones and Elise and Brodie Phillipp; her brother, Carl Tebell of San Francisco, CA; her sisters, Charlotte (Nick) Warney of Aurora, IL and Carol (Wayne) Miller of Leland, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Emma Tebell; her husband, Bud Farren; her brother, Art Tebell and his wife Emma, and an infant sister.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ, 409 Center Parkway in Yorkville, IL with Pastor Mark Gregory, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL.
