Obituary: Walter “Wally” Chilvers

Walter "Wally" Chilvers, July 25, 1927 - Dec. 21, 2012.

 Information from Larson-Nelson Funeral Home:

Walter “Wally” Chilvers, age 85, of Yorkville, passed away suddenly on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  He was born on July 25, 1927 in Plainfield, the son of Clayton and Lulu (Zarn) Chilvers.

Wally was united in marriage on Aug. 13, 1949 in Naperville, to the former Theresa Gasser, and they spent 63 happy years of their lives together. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. For many years, Mr. Chilvers farmed in the Naperville-Plainfield area, and after retiring, was employed by the Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook.  In recent years, Wally has worked for, and will be deeply missed by his friends at Nelson Funeral Homes. He was a very caring man, and was always more than willing to help his family and friends in any way that he could.  Wally loved to go on daily walks with his dog Lady, and was always making new friends with anyone he met.  He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, and loved to play cards with his grandchildren. Wally was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
