Obituary: Marjorie A. Grigalis

Marjorie A. Grigalis, age 75 of Yorkville passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. She was born on Dec. 5, 1936 in Pottsdam, N.Y. the daughter of Harold and Olive (Mowery) White.

Marjorie was united in marriage on Nov. 24, 1985 to Mr. John Grigalis and they spent the next 27 happy years together. Mrs. Grigalis formerly attended the First United Methodist Church of Batavia. When she was young, Marjorie belonged to the Girl Scouts of America in Batavia. She was an avid and devoted cat lover. Marjorie is survived by her husband, John Grigalis, of Yorkville; her children, Brenda Quarzinski of Chicago and Barry (Cynthia) Lee of Kankakee; her granddaughters, Meghan (Ryan) Retter of Hudson, Ill. and Victoria Lee of Bourbonnais; her great-grandson, Jackson Retter; her sister, Arlene (Marvin) Peters of Princeton, Ill.; several nieces and nephews; also her cats, Tommy, Peanut and Annie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert E. Lee, III, the father of her children, and her second husband, Russell Strange.

A Funeral Service was held at noon on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville with Pastor Kent Svendsen, officiating. Interment followed in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
