Obituary: Margaret Elizabeth Devick

Margaret Elizabeth Devick, age 89 of Yorkville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, after a long battle with cancer, at her home. She was born on March 8, 1923 in Aurora, the daughter of Stephen and Julia (Sabo) Batorson.

Margaret was united in marriage on May 18, 1946 at the Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark to Mr. Russell Devick and they spent the next 60 happy years together until his passing on July 7, 2006. Mrs. Devick was a lifetime member of the Helmar Lutheran Church. Marge was formerly employed, for 33 years, as the Assistant Vice President at the Bank of Yorkville in Yorkville. She also served for many years as the Treasurer for the Kendall County United Fund and for Helmar Lutheran Church. Marge was also active in several other local organizations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Marge is survived by her son, Daryl Devick of Aurora; her grandson Erik Devick of Plano; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Batorson of Batavia, IL and Lois (Gerald) Stangland of Sugar Grove and Elaine Batorson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Julia Batorson; her husband, Russell Devick; also her five brothers and two sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at the Helmar Lutheran Church, 11935 Lisbon Road in Newark, with Don Davidson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Helmar Lutheran Cemetery in Newark.

Friends may visit from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville.
