Lance Walter Yates, Sr., age 56, of Sandwich passed away on Wednesday, Nov.r 7, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 16, 1956 in Chicago, the son of Jack and Beverly (Payton) Yates.
Lance was united in marriage on May 2, 1976 to the former Marie Simers and they spent the next 36 happy years of their lives together. Mr. Yates was the former owner of Budzer’s Bait & Tackle Shop in Sandwich. He was a member of the Lake Holiday Fishing Club. Lance was a loving husband, father, uncle and nephew who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Yates of Sandwich; his children, Samantha (Keith) Johnsen of Montgomery, Jessica Yates of Sandwich, and Lance W. Yates, Jr. of Sandwich; his aunt, Nancy (Bob) Weier of Burbank; and his brother-in-law, Bob (Jane) Simers of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Beverly Yates.
