Obituary: Kenneth L. McGill

Kenneth L. McGill, age 88 of Yorkville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at the Sandwich Rehab in Sandwich. He was born on Sept. 23, 1924 in Iowa the son of LeRoy and Zoe (Miller) McGill.

Ken was united in marriage on Dec. 24, 1945 to the former Miss Grace Everett and they spent the next 67 happy years together. Mr. McGill was, for 20 years, the Maintenance Supervisor at the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville. Ken was a member and former Commander of the Yorkville American Legion Post #498. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his wife, Grace McGill of Yorkville; his daughter, Grayce (Bud) Lightfoot of Diamond Bar, Calif.; his grandson, Wayne (Kathie) Lightfoot of Riolta, Calif.; his great-grandson, Matthew (Tiffany) Lightfoot of Mount Dora, Fla.; and his great-great-granddaughter, Emma Lightfoot; his four brothers; his three sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and one brother.

A Graveside Military Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at the Pavilion Cemetery in Yorkville.
