Obituary: Joseph F. Maska

Joseph F. Maska, 87, March 19, 1924 - Feb. 24, 2013.

Joseph F. Maska, age 87, of Yorkville, formerly of Downers Grove, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at his home.He was born on March 19, 1924 in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Zeithammel) Maska.

Joseph was united in marriage on May 28, 1972 to the former Arline Megier and they spent the next 41 happy years together. Mr. Maska was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a 60 year member of the Downers Grove American Legion Post #80. Mr. Maska was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Arline Maska of Yorkville, formerly of Downers Grove; his children, James (Lorelle) Boatman of Aurora, Faith Ann (Dan) Mantooth of Westmont, and  Eileen (Vern) Spevak of Yorkville; his grandchildren, Jacqueline, Christina, Aaron, Marisa, Jeanine and Matthew; his two great-grandchildren; and niece,  Patricia (Pat) Nocerino of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Maska; and his sister Eleanor Erhart.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street in Yorkville. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.

Friends may visit from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb.* 26, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy in Yorkville. Please omit flowers.
