Gerald G. Moisa, 69, of Yorkville, passed away on Sunday, Dec.. 9, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. He was born on May 2, 1943 the son of John and Violet (Silagi) Moisa.

Jerry was united in marriage on Dec. 7, 1968 in Chicago to the former Miss Kathleen Henning and they spent the next 39 happy years together until her passing on Sept. 14, 2008. Mr. Moisa served his country proudly as a Paratrooper in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville. Jerry retired after 30 years of service as a policeman with the Aurora Police Department. He was a longtime member of the Policeman’s Benevolent and Protection Association of Illinois. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his children, David (Victoria) Moisa of Antioch and Lisa (Anthony) Morelli of Plano; his grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Olivia and Natalie Moisa; his brothers, John (Christine) Moisa of Plano and James Moisa of Aurora; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet Moisa; his wife, Kathleen Moisa; his son, Daniel Moisa and a grandson, Daniel Schubbe.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street in Yorkville, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., and Father Jerome Leake, officiating. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.

Friends may visit from 3 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville.
