Obituary: Frances Arlene Scott

Frances Arlene Scott, 92, Oct. 8, 1920 - Feb. 13, 2013.

Frances Arlene Scott, 92 of Yorkville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at Bickford Cottage, Oswego. She was born on Oct. 8, 1920 in Plano, the daughter of Louis and Mabel (Larson) Vilmin.

Frances was united in marriage, Aug. 10, 1946 in the Newark Lutheran Church in Newark, to Mr. Leo Thomas Scott and they spent the next 66 happy years together until his passing on Jan. 5, 2013. Mrs. Scott was a longtime member of the Helmar Lutheran Church in Newark. She was employed for several years, at the Kendall County Courthouse and later at Perkins Implement of Yorkville. Frances was also formerly employed at the Sue Ann Shoppe’s in both Yorkville and Sandwich. Fran was an avid golfer both here and in Arizona. She loved to be with family and friends on the golf course. Fran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Frances is survived by her son, Robert L. (Barb) Scott, Yorkville; her daughter, Lynn (Jim) Hall, Yorkville; her grandchildren, Matt, Kyle and Meggie Scott; her sister-in-law, Beverly Vilmin, Plano; also several nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leo Scott; her brother, Robert Vilmin; and her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Earl Rasmusson.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Febr. 18, 2013 at the Helmar Lutheran Church, 11935 Lisbon Rd, Newark, with Don Davidson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Helmar Lutheran Cemetery, Newark.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service, Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Helmar Lutheran Church, Newark.
