Obituary: David L. Zwart

David L. Zwart, 65 of Yorkville, died unexpectedly Friday.

Larson-Nelson Funeral Home provided the following obituary:

David L. Zwart, age 65 of Yorkville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on September 18, 1947 in Aurora, IL the son of Henry “Hank” and Minnie M. (Smit) Zwart.

David was united in marriage on February 27, 1965 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL to the former Linda L. Christensen and they spent the next 47 happy years together. Mr. Zwart was the Owner and Operator of D & H Excavating Company and for the past nearly 40 years had been excavating for Fermi Lab in Batavia, IL. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL and was attending Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL. Oh, how Dave loved drag racing cars, especially with his buddies “The Budd Road Boyz”. He had formerly coached many Aurora boys’ baseball teams including being very involved with his grandsons’ team. David was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son and half-brother, who will be deeply missed by his family and many, many friends.

David is survived by his loving wife, Linda Zwart, of Yorkville, IL; his daughters, Jamie (John) Perez of Yorkville, IL and Chrissy  Zwart of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Scott Furlong, Heather Furlong and Madeline Zwart all of Yorkville, IL; his mother, Minnie Zwart of Aurora, IL; his former son-in-law, Jeff Furlong of Aurora, IL; his half siblings, Andy Alworth, WY, Jolele Lukens, AZ, Louise (Marcus) Howell, WY, Don Ellis, WY and Frank Geiger, NM; and many wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hank Zwart and his birth mother, Clarice Geiger.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until the Hour of Service at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL with Pastor David Kaul, officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorials in David’s name may be directed to the Kendall County Food Pantry, 1204 Deer Street, Yorkville, IL 60560.
